Operating Groups are at the core of our re-organized internal operations, introduced in 2007. The ten groups at the center of our structure are designed to carry out the tasks, duties and responsibilities associated with each group. Each is necessary to the functional health and well being of our church as an institution that serves our members, and those we serve.
At the present time nearly half of our members have signed up for one or more of our groups. Every member of our congregation is encouraged to become a part of at least one group. Each group has a designated convener whose calls the group together when there is something to be done. Each group has an advocate, who is a member of the council, or our pastor. The role of the advocate is to be aware of the work of the group they are associated with, and to work with the group and the council to see that they have adequate resources to fulfill their ministry.
