James Briney, pastor and teacher
Reverend Briney has earned degrees in Philosophy and Theology. He worked in the public sector and the private sector before seeking ordination. He was raised in the Anglican Communion and has lived at times at Saint Gregory's Abbey. He served congregations in the Indiana/Kentucky, Michigan and Wisconsin Conferences of the United Church of Christ, before his call to Oro Valley United Church Of Christ in the Southwest Conference.

Jose Solorzano, music director, pianist
Jose Solorzano has been the pianist at Oro Valley United Church Of Christ, since 1992. Jose became Music Ministry Director in 2004. Jose holds a Masters of Piano Performance from the University of Arizona. He plays with local orchestras and performs solo concerts in the Tucson area. Jose selects and plays instrumental music for Sunday Morning and special worship services. He accompanies our soloist and the congregation for hymns that are sung. Working closely with the choir, guest musicians, Pastor Briney and Soloist Phil Moody, Jose also participates in the creation of the musical calendar for Oro Valley United Church Of Christ.

Philip Moody, Choir Director, Soloist
Philip Moody is a Doctoral student in the Music Department at the University of Arizona. Philip holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Sacred Music and Voice from Saint Olaf College in Northfield, MN. He also earned a Master of Music degree in conducting and voice from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Some of his past conducting roles have included Artistic Director for CORO (originally Sacred Voices) in Houston, Associate Choir Director for Clear Brook High School in Houston, Artistic Director of the Rivercross Theater Company in Northfield, MN, Music Director of the University of New Mexico Theater Department in Albuquerque, Director of Music at Christ Church Presbyterian Church in Houston, and Assistant Director of Music at Saint Paul Lutheran in Albuquerque. |

Jan Garman, wedding coordinator
Jan is from Jackson Michigan where she graduated from Jackson High School. Jan and her husband Herb, have a blended family of 6 children and 10 grandchildren. Jan was a real estate broker and appraiser for 15 years and a Girl Scout leader for 16 years. Jan moved to Tucson in 1995 and volunteered as a docent at the Native American Museum and has been the Wedding Coordinator for the past 5 years.

Janice Martinez, office secretary
Janice Martinez moved to Tucson in 1990 and worked for the University of Arizona, Department of Emergency Medicine for 13 years, before serving in her present position.

Janet Marks, bookkeeper
Janet Marks has served as our bookkeeper and accountant for 3 years. She comes to us from Fairfield County, Connecticut, with more than 10 years of church accounting experience. Janet and her husband Roger, an attorney at Tucson Medical Center, have two daughters, ages 25 and 30, who reside on the East Coast.

Rosa Ramirez, custodian
Rosa L. Ramirez has lived in Tucson since 1989. She started her own Janitorial Service, Arcy Cleaning Service, in 1997. Her other clients include Honeywell, Avaya Communications, and City Press. Her commitment is to: "Serve with integrity and always do the best for her customers." She has been a Christian for twelve years and her favorite scripture is Isaiah Ch.10; Vs. 26-27.
