James Briney, pastor and teacher
Reverend James Briney has degrees in Philosophy and Theology. He worked in the public sector and the private sector before seeking ordination. He was raised in the Anglican Communion and spent times of rest and sabbatical at Saint Gregory's Abbey. He served congregations in the Indiana/Kentucky, Michigan, and Wisconsin Conferences of the United Church of Christ before his call to ORO VALLEY UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST in the Southwest Conference.

Jose Solorzano, music director, pianist
Jose Solórzano has been the pianist at ORO VALLEY UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST since 1992. Jose became the Music Ministry Director in 2004. Jose holds a Masters of Piano Performance from the University of Arizona. He plays with local orchestras and performs solo concerts in the Tucson area. Jose selects and plays instrumental music for Sunday morning worship and for special worship services. He accompanies our choir, soloists, and congregation. Jose works closely with the choir, guest musicians, Pastor Briney, soloist Matt Rinaldi, and harpist Christine Vivona in the creation of the musical calendar for ORO VALLEY UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST.

Matt Rinaldi, choir director and soloist
A Tucsonan since 1991, Matt Rinaldi hails from the beautiful Green Mountains of Vermont. Matt received his Bachelor's of Music and Master's of Music degrees in Trumpet Performance with a Conducting and Theory Concentration from the University of Arizona. Matt has a rich vocal background, performing and conducting classically in church choirs throughout his life and for the likes of the late Pope John Paul II. Matt is currently principal trumpet with Trio Capriccio and The Rinaldi Jazz Duo. Matt is also a private trumpet teacher and an Adjunct Professor of Music at Pima Community College.

Christine Vivona, harpist in residence
Dr. Christine Vivona is harpist in residence for ORO VALLEY UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST. She earned her masters degree from The Juilliard School and a doctorate from the University of Arizona. She plays Harp II with the Tucson Symphony and teaches privately and at the University of Arizona. Dr. Vivona has played at Tucson weddings for over 25 years. Dr. Vivona's entire family is musical, and they often perform together.

Janice Martinez, office secretary
Janice Martinez moved to Tucson in 1990 and worked for the University of Arizona, Department of Emergency Medicine, for 13 years before becoming the office secretary. Janice staffs the church office from 9:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M., Monday through Thursday.

Janet Marks, bookkeeper
Janet Marks has been the bookkeeper at ORO VALLEY UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST for several years. She came to Tucson from Fairfield County, Connecticut. Janet and her husband, Roger, have two grown daughters.

Rosa Ramirez, custodian
Rosa L. Ramirez has lived in Tucson since 1989. She started her own janitorial service, Arcy Cleaning Service in 1997. Her commitment is to "Serve with integrity and always do her best for her customers."
