Study Groups And Activity Opportunities abound at Oro Valley United Church Of Christ. They are geared to Women, Men, Individuals, Couples, members and friends. Our worship services and study groups are open to everyone who has an interest. Regardless your specific Biblical knowledge, you are welcome and invited to participate. As each group studies and learns together, we ask questions, engage in discussions and develop friendships.

The Women's Study Group meets on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in our fellowship hall. This is a thoughtful group that sparks lively conversation and discussion. We study books of the Bible, Women of the Bible, texts from the Lectionary, and topics suggested by the women who participate. Before leaving each Tuesday, we take notice of members and friends who are hospitalized or in need of support. Cards are sent to keep in touch, and we follow up on occasion by providing contact, making a visit and helping out with transportation.

Our Potluck & Discussion Group meets on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. in our fellowship hall. Food, fellowship and conversation characterize the first hour, followed by an hour of learning and discussion, based on a topic or study materials determined by the group. We have talked about the history of our denomination, church revitalization, our own faith experiences, and news stories in the public domain. We have based discussions on the formation of our traditions in worship and how to keep the word of God alive in our time. This is an opportunity to learn about the word of God and to apply it to our lives.

Choir Practice follows the potluck and discussion. Have a look at the choir and music page on this site, to learn about our music program and choir. Everyone is welcome to sing in our choir under the direction and leadership of our talented staff, and members who provide special music throughout the year.

The Men's Study Group meets on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in our fellowship hall. We have studied the major religions of the world, talked about our own faith background and our earliest memories of our church experiences. We study a variety of topics based on our own research. We draw from a broad range of materials, including Internet resources, books, films and videos.
