Who We Are

Who we are is just the beginning of our own spiritual development and intellectual curiosity. Our demographic includes an older membership that is borne of integrity and filled with vitality. We offer study groups for women, men, individuals, couples, visitors, members and friends throughout the week. We enjoy our traditions and activities and do our best to become better acquainted with one another. We value each aspect of worship, evidenced by our services that strike a balance comprised of music, prayer, scripture and the sermon. The organization of our congregation includes ten groups that take, and share, responsibility for the operation of the church. New members and friends do not have to wait their turn to become involved. As you continue on this site, have a look at who we are. We trust that we will be all the better, with you in our midst, as part of the body of Christ.

More about the United Church of Christ

Links to the United Church of Christ and other related websites will give you an even broader base of information on which to make your decision to become a member of our congregation.

We want our members to make informed decisions and to know something about the deep and profound traditions of our church and what it stands for. Each member is encouraged to explore their faith as they are led by the Holy Spirit and are instructed by their relationship with Jesus Christ as citizens in the kingdom of God.

Oro Valley United Church Of Christ was formed in 1992. We are available to minister to our members and friends and to all who come our way. Our ministry includes the wider church through the denomination of the United Church of Christ and the Southwest Conference, as well as various local community programs and community services.

The roots of The United Church of Christ in America date back to 1620. Our denomination was formed in 1957 with the merger of the Evangelical and Reformed Church and the Congregational Christian Church. We strive to be a united and uniting church. We acknowledge Jesus Christ as the Sole Head of the Church.

"Church today was more meaningful than ever before.  With delight, I took notice of the number of people who have returned and I know as time passes, more will come, filling Oro Valley United Church Of Christ with souls waiting for your words...Your sermons reach inside and demand the use of one's intellect.  Your ministering provides insight that lingers and directs..."
